So you want to make the game easier for Beginners? Ok.

• The overall problem is that new players do NOT (at least that is my impression) read the Beginnders Guide or the Stendhal Manual and they do NOT stick to the Tutorial. So they don't know e.g. how the game works (regular trigger words, blue words). Keep that in mind. And I think, if you don't read forementioned texts, you don't know about the Travel Log, if you don't explore the menu yourself.
• (Still to confirm:)Did anybody do Hayunn's quest recently? I think he does not tell you that you have to come back to him again to get the shield.
• The fact that a shields stat is x but counts 4*x to ones protection may be unknown and therefore the importance of a shield.
• Leander buys cheese, but he only tells that to the player, when the players says offer or cheese. So a lot of players probably don't know. (I must have read and then totally forgot about it. I only know because I saw the introducing comment in the code recently. I can't remember ever going to him for selling cheese.)-> Put up a blackboard in the bakery! Write it on the sign outside of the bakery. “We buy cheese!”
• A gnome drops a minor potion by 5%, mage gnome 2.5%. -> Raise the probability to 10% - 20%.
• Leader kobold is the only kobold who drops food or potion (1-2 minor potion at 1.5%) -> raise that. Give soldier or archer a drop
• The player may not recive any food when he kills the first rats, therefore can't heal, and have his first death pretty fast. -> Give the player some food at the start. Or let some vegetable grow near Hayunn's hut. Or change games.stendhal.server.maps.semos.village.RatsCreatures.java so that they drop cheese at 100%.
• A problem can be that players don't know where to go. Especially the entrance to the Semos Mine with the kobolds seems to be litle known but is important for players > level 5. -> Point there somehow. Maybe with a quest starting in Semos City.
• It's hard to loot a cloak (Def 1) because there are so few veteran/soldier goblins in the game and they drop it at only 0.5%. (But if you knew you could sell cheese, you'd have the money to buy one from Xin.)

For the little more experienced players:

• It's hard to go to Ados where you can sell meat because one has to deal not only with 2 orcs (level 8) but 2/3 fast orc warriors (level 14) And you don't know that there are only that few, when you are new and haven't made your way to Ados City yet. -> Replace the orc warriors with something less deadly.
• Haizen sells home scrolls. In old times Haizen seems to have been at the Mine Town. Now he is behind the orc warriors. Hard to reach, hard to get a home scroll. -> Make Mayor Sakhs sell home scrolls or move Haizen way nearer to Semos City.
• Kotoch is a nice leveling area for players > level 20 but it is to hard to get in because the area around the entrance is completely cramped and filled up with creatures that run around. It happens fast that you are against 3 and more orcs of all kinds even when you are careful. When you are strong enough to fight all of those and make into Kotoch, then Kotoch is boring. -> Remove some of the creatures in 0_orrill_mountains_nw around the entrance. (I think they were just recently added anyway.)

• Are there problems with account creation?
• People don't read the manual.
• People don't follow the tutorial.
• People don't read the dialogues. Are too stupid to answer with "yes" if they return to Hayuun at all.
• help - job - offer - quest are missing in the Beginner's Guide. – I added them in the mean time.
• People don't get it how to commuticate to NPCs (because they don't follow the tutorial) and they don't learn it from Hayuun or on the first map.
