Stendhal localhost server on Windows XP® - Visual Installation Guide Step-by-step
This guide uses:
- MySQL 5.0 Community Server - Generally Available
- Java Version 6 Update 5
- Marauroa-2.6
- Stendhal-server-0.69
- Stendhal-0.69 (the client)
So subsequent versions could look moderately or somewhat different from what you see in these versions. This guide can get out of date or have mistakes, so please contact us at the IRC server irc.freenode.net, channel #arianne if you have any difficulty. Please let us know what steps are failing and provide the link to the specific page.
Introduction
The purpose of this guide is to get your own local Stendhal server installed on Windows.
At least in some places, this guide uses the spanish version of Windows XP®. Sorry for the inconveniences. :(
This document presents a step-by-step walkthrough of the installing and running process. The whole process can be a bit long because of the number of steps and substeps but it isn't really difficult as you must only follow a sequence of well defined steps.
Overview
Listed below are the major steps required to install and run Stendhal as a localhost server on Windows XP®:
- Step 1. Install and configure MySQL
- Step 2. Create a MySQL database
- Step 3. Step removed! - because marauroa is included in the stendhal distribution now.
