We think it was a cheap webspace provider or something like that. The project moved to SF.net and has been happy there ever since. The Arianne project was moved to SourceForge in January 2000. There was some major data loss 10 years ago, shortly after the project was founded. It seems likely that this event was the motivation to move to SourceForge.
