Line 8:
To aid in convenience for players using touch devices, we have added a "chat options" dialog window. It contains keywords to interact with NPCs instead of requiring to type everything out. Of course, being that Stendhal is heavily dependent on chat interactions with NPCs, some typing will still be required. Another new feature is object indicators. Similar in application to the changing of the displayed cursor over certain objects for mouse enabled devices, it is used to indicate to the player than an action is available. For example, to show that a corpse contains items or that there is a readable note on a table.

If you feel concerned that perhaps development is moving toward mobile only platforms only, put your mind at ease. Stendhal will always be available for desktop systems. The web client is now our central interface and thanks to the versatility of JavaScript and web applications, not only is it playable in all major web browsers, it also serves as the corecornerstone of our new Android client and future dedicated desktop clients. So the choice is yours of how you want to play, whether installed as a downloadable app or directly in your desktop or mobile browser.

Getting back to the world of Stendhal, we want to mention that the ferry service has received a small upgrade. Captain Brownbeard invested in a fog horn. Listen for its low blare announcing its arrival to port.
