Option 1: Reduce number of creature categories

animal.xml

• Merge the following:
  • small_animal.xml
  • giant spider
  • king cobra

human.xml

• Merge the following:
  • kobold.xml
  • giant kobold
  • thing

hybrid.xml

• Merge the following into this file:
  • beholder.xml
  • frogman.xml
  • demon.xml (optionally to undead.xml)
  • elemental.xml

mythical_animal

• Merge the following:
  • green dragon
  • blue dragon
  • red dragon
  • twin headed dragon
  • <creature "golden dragon" not found>
  • black dragon
  • bone dragon (optionally to undead.xml)
  • chaos green dragonrider (optionally to human.xml)
  • chaos red dragonrider (optionally to human.xml)

mythical_being

• Merge the following into this file:
  • elf.xml
  • albino_elf.xml
  • dark_elf.xml
  • dwarf.xml
  • fairy.xml

undead.xml

• Merge the following:
  • vampire.xml
  • zombie rat (optional)

• Remove the following
  • devil queen to hybrid.xml

huge_animal:

• Move all dragons into this file.
• Move giant kobold into kobold.xml.
• Move giant spider into animal.xml.
• Move chaos green dragonrider & chaos red dragonriderto either dragon.xml or chaos.xml, likely chaos.
• Move thing to hybrid.xml.
• Move black death and golden death to undead.xml.
• Move king cobra to animal.xml.

giant_animal

• Move dwarf golem to hybrid.xml.
• Move giantrat & crocodile to animal.xml.

giant_human

• Move all angels into new angel.xml.
• Move amazoness giant into amazoness.xml.
• Move giant, elder giant, master giant, ice giant and black giant into human.xml.

giant

• Move cyclops to hybrid.xml
• Rename giant.xml to ogre.xml

mummy

• Move all mummies into undead.xml

mutant

• Move imperial mutant & imperial experiment to either hybrid.xml or imperial.xml.
• Move glow monster, dark mutant, cat woman & werewolf to hybrid.xml.

small_animal

• Merge all into animal.xml (zombie rat could optionally be moved to undead.xml).

vampire

• Merge all into undead.xml

amazoness

• Merge all into human.xml

imperial

• Merge all into human.xml.

mummy

• Merge all into undead.xml.

Other moves that should be made with this option

• Move gashadokuro to undead.xml.

Option 2: Create more creature categories

lamia.xml

• Move all nagas and lamia from mutant.xml into new lamia.xml.
• aruthon.xml: robot aruthon & dark aruthon.
• skeleton.xml: tiny skelly, skeleton, warrior skeleton, demon skeleton, gashadokuro.
• zombie.xml: zombie, bloody zombie, rotten zombie, headless monster
• undead_animal.xml: zombie rat, ghost hound
• phantom.xml: ghost, green phantom, death, black death, golden death, invisible man, incorporeal armor
• lich.xml: lich, high lich, dead lich
• monk.xml: monk, darkmonk, devil monk

Other changes

• Move tiny skelly from hybrid.xml to undead.xml or skeleton.xml.

mythical_animal

• Move black dragon to dragon.xml.
• Move balrog to hybrid.xml.

Questionable changes

• Move nymph from elemental.xml to either fairy.xml or hybrid.xml.
• Move djinn from elemental.xml to hybrid.xml.
• Move imperial demon servant & imperial demon lord to imperial.xml.
• Move devil queen to hybrid.xml
